Experience:
Black sea bass, yellow eye rockfish (red snapper), tiger, china, and
dusky rockfish all inhabit the deep waters of Prince William Sound, an
added bonus while out fishing on the extended halibut trips. Generous
limits, fast action, and great eating, all add to the fun. Method of
fishing is targeting underwater ledges and rock pinnacles. Small jigs
with light gear are proven techniques.
Lingcod, for anyone who has never fished for lings, hold on to the ROD.
Large fish up to 40 to 60 lbs is the norm. Same fishing techniques used
in harvesting rockfish are used to persuade these large toothy critters
into biting.
Ling season opens July 1st with much anticipation from your captain! The
firm white delicate flesh is perhaps some of the best eating fish in the
Pacific Northwest. Light tackle and secret holes make Ling fishing tough
to beat.
Additional Information:
This trip is combined with the extended 3 day halibut trip. When in
season each client is allowed 4 Lings. Rockfish limits vary by species -
each client is allowed 2 yellow eye rockfish (non-pelagic) and 8 black
sea bass (pelagic). Your captain will make sure each client will have
his or her share of the excitement in harvesting some great eats!
Included:
All gear and meals are provided. Please see What To Bring list for
extended fishing trips. All fish cleaning and help with shipping.
